Why This Recipe Works
Chicken salt is an Australian condiment traditionally used on french fries, but its savory, umami-rich flavor makes it one of the most versatile seasoning blends you can keep in your pantry. The backbone is fine sea salt, which carries and amplifies every other flavor in the mix. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) and nutritional yeast both contribute glutamates, and together they create a synergistic umami effect that neither ingredient achieves alone. Onion and garlic powders add aromatic depth. Rice flour keeps the powder dry and free-flowing by absorbing any residual moisture.
